National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)
On September 14, 2017 Mr. Joseph Hughes, Dr. Beverly Wright, Prof. Robert Bullard and Mr. Scot Rudolph with the National Institute for Environmental Sciences (NIEHS) visited Port Arthur, TX to see first hand how the community and organizations were dealing with the aftermath and clean up of the devastation that Hurricane Harvey left.
Our esteemed friends with NIEHS were instrumental in making connections to media outlets and federal organizations to inform them of the gravity of the situation and to get aid on the ground to get people temporary housing.

In addition, they also sent CIDA Inc. very helpful information to share, concerning the safe way to clean up homes and hurricane preparedness. We distributed those informational booklets on September 28, 2017.
