During these difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand the importance of coming together to support the community.
Therefore, each Saturday in June, the Community In-Power and Development Association (CIDA) together with Valero will host a Homemade Gumbo Pickup at noon at Kelley's Kitchen.
We will be practicing and encouraging social distancing during these events, and packaging the food to go.
Not only does providing these free meals take some of the pressure off of families in need, we hope it also brings some comfort in frightening times.
While we are social distancing it is important to know that we are all in this together.
Updated July 17, 2020: We are delighted to have been able to give away over 2000 servings of homemade gumbo, smoked links and boudain.
