The West Port Arthur Park & Community Garden is OPEN

On April 17. 2019. The West Port Arthur Park & Community Garden was officially opened. We are excited to see that through a Supplemental Environmental Program (SEP), Valero choose to contribute in such a positive way to the community that suffered from their excessive emissions.

CIDA was there from the groundbreaking ceremony to the final opening of the garden. The community garden features raised plant beds, a playground, an orchard with fruit and nut trees, pollinator plants, compost bins, rainwater catchment and storage system and a pavilion.

We believe this is a great place for people to learn about and enjoy nature.
